Default Difficulty Installing Clutch Pedal Return Spring

I just spent 2 hours trying to install a new clutch pedal return spring on my '00 SS. I followed the instructions from All Data and removed everything.

I am easily able to get the first end of the spring into the bushing, but I cannot seem to get the straight center section of the spring in the proper location to push into the bushing on the pedal. Any suggestions on how do to this?

Thanks in advance.

I came back out and got after it again this morning and strangely after wrestling with it for another hour or so, I got it in fairly easily. I cannot explain how I did it, I was just able to get the middle section in with the right side pin in the bushing by changing the orientation of the spring. Pedal doesn't feel lazy or floppy.

Thanks to all who read this thread.

That pretty much summarizes my experience with that... It will break again and won't get easier to put in the next time.

Since I move to a Tick Master Cylinder, which instruct to take the spring out for good, life has been great.

+2. When I took out my stock master for the tick unit, that spring broke into 3 pieces anyway.
