Default 2001 ws6 idling issue

Ok guys, just picked up my 2001 ws6 automatic and I'm having a couple of issues. First, when I'm coming to a stop, the car wants to kind of keep forcing a very small amount of fuel to keep going. And at a dead stop, it sounds and feels as if it want to cut off. The rpm gauge doesn't bounce at all at first, but then after about 30 -45 seconds stopped, it will drop a little. So that's the first issue

Second issue, when I'm accelerating, I'm getting a whirling /whistling noise coming from the rear. Is this normal? It gets louder the more I accelerate, but as soon as I take my foot off the gas, it goes away. I don't believe it is electrical interference as it doesn't change the way my radio sounds. It has stock 3.23 gears.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

first issue sounds a bit like a vacuum leak.

on the rear end, sounds like typical 10 bolt junk or gears not setup properly. some after market gears will whine more than others as well.

When you say it's forcing a small amount of fuel to keep it going do you mean that if you let off the gas then the car will continue to move forward at about 20 mph until you brake to a full stop? Would that not be the "throttle cracker" in action which I've been reading about on this forum?
