1999 2000 alt bracket, double idler pulley upgrade
I'm squeeking bad. PS pump pulley broke off PS pump. I put a new PS pump and still squeeking. I changed the tensioner pulley still squeeking. Looks like I have to change the idler pulley but I can only get the wrong part local. They changed to a double idler pulley. Also recommend changing alt bracket and belt. When I get this new double idler pulley do I use the screw that I have now. I bought this new one from Napa but it did not come with a new bolt or cover wheel for the bolt to touch and not touch the pulley. As of now I'm going to return the Napa one and see if one can be sold with other needed pieces. Anyone been through this that can tell me.

What year is your car? Have you tried getting the parts from GM? The revised pulley is part number 12563326 and is still available from GM - but this requires the new alternator bracket (which I believe is part number 12563327 - but you might want to double check that.) I don't know what you mean by a "double pulley."
The GM part number for the older style pulley is 12564401. That one should fit right on the older style bracket without any issues at all.
I don't know anything about the aftermarket versions of these pullies. Those part numbers above are all GM.

The updated idler pulley does work with the same screw. I just didn't use the round front plate. I did leave the back one on. I still had a squeal. I pulled the tensioner back with a racket while the car was running and the squeeking went away. So I replaced the tensioner and no squeal at idle just squeal while driving. I will change to the newer version alternator bracket and hope all should be quiet. I'll probably change the belt also.

Are you sure the remaining noise isn't related to the A/C belt system?
