Might be the battery is low? My stocker was so weak the
interior lights/radio would kill it after a while.

He probably replaced it, you can't really fix one yourself. You can have yours rebuilt, but I'm sure he just replaced it because either the solenoid or the magnets in the starter were grounded (locked up).

Your car sounds like it has a weak battery or a loose connection. Was the connections loose when you disconnected it?
If your battery is good try all the connections, the battery, the starter, the ground on the block next to the starter, the alternator, and the fuse/relay box near the driver's side headlight.

Peace,
Craig.

I have this exact same problem right now. I go to turn the key and I get a click from behind the glove box. I pulled open the glovebox and detabbed it and the sound is actually coming from a silver box.

Unlike the OP mine clicking only happens once per key turn and stops, but I did get it to make a grinding noise (which is what I think the OP said he needs to disconnect the battery to shut off) once, but turning the key off makes it quit.

To the OP, if you did get this figured out please reply.
I'm sick of and over this one!

Thanks.
