Question broken seatbelt guide, HELP

my driver side seatbelt guide(the guide attatched to the headrest) broke for some random reason the other day..it is the guide that is a complete circle, there is no opening in the guide that you can just slip over the belt..

so my question is how do I get the new one on...do i have to unscrew the seat belt bolt near the floor of the car and slide it on??

im confused
thanks

You may also have to take the seat out to get the belt loose. I've replaced both before, and the hex bolt for the belt is very close to the seat bracket. Leave it to GM to not leave a slit in the guide on a part that is very common to break.

i just replaced mine. best thing to do unscrew it from seat cut a slit in loop i used a hacksaw slide seatbelt out. do both seats because you can get ones from the dealer for a convertible that bolt right up and have a slit in them i paid 10 bucks for the pair put them on and slid the belt in and was done. took like 5 min and was a hell of alot better than tearin into stuff

Buy the guide for a convertible car, they have the slot already molded in.

I just took my recip saw and make a small cut right at the bottom arm attachment so I can slide the belts out. Quick, easy, and you can't tell it was done, those belt loops are very rigid.
