Royal Purple Racing 41 does extremely well in the LS1. It is much better than the regular 5w-30 and 10w-30 Royal Purple oils. They tend to shear while Royal Purple Racing 41 has proven to be more shear stable.

RP 41 is a much better choice than Mobil 1 5w30. As mentioned, it's very shear stable and has proven itself in oil analysis to be a great choice for hard driven LS1s. I wouldn't consider RP's 5w30 or 10w30 though, both of which thin out too quickly.

No it Is Not.. Read thier WeB Site.. they state the Synthetic Motor oil & Not the Race Oil. For a Regular Car or DD & not the the Race.. As for M1. runs to thin No butter feel.

Just because it's labelled a race oil doesn't mean it cannot be used on the street. It has enough detergents to handle street driving with no problem. In fact I've seen a good number of oil analysis reports with this oil where the person has gone over 6000 miles and the oil can definitely handle it.

I ran the RP21 for about 90000 miles without any issues. What weight is the 41? The 21 was about a 5w30.
