Default no oil level sensor....

just got a used 98 z28....low oil light has came on a few times yet no issue with oil level...

check the sensor to find the plug into the pan, but nothing connected to the plug....and i can't find anything dangling underneath....

I have an LS1 take-out engine that I used to swap into my '98 Camaro when I took out the v6. The wires going to the oil sensor were pinched/cut all the way through.

I just twisted them together and taped them up. (so the oil sensor doesn't really report anymore) The light stays off now.

Your's is probably cut and sometimes touching and sometimes not.

The pair of wires was brown if I remember right. And they were pinched near the starter.
