Default amplified hidden antenna

Anyone ever bought one and replaced your original power antenna? If so what kind did you go with and how hard was it to install?

does anyone know where to find an AM/FM antenna that could be hidden in the rear quarter panel area? It would also require some sort of plug for the hole in the quarter panel where the antenna went through...i looked at o'reilleys today but couldnt find anything.

I just hooked one up inside my 65 elky b/c i shaved the hole in the fender when i painted the car.

Got the antenna at advance auto, it sticks to the inside of the window. They only had 1 kind in stock.

it requires a ground, and power when radio turns on. Seems like it works well so far. I will take some photos and let you know aftern the holiday if you would like

Humm, not too sure about that. Rear quarters are metal, so i would probably say weld the hole in, then use a good filler.

Many years ago I installed a hidden amplified antenna (I think it was called "Cateye"... not sure) in my '89 Camaro. I had it wired through the dash, up the driver side A-pillar, and then along the top of the windshield. Worked like a charm and had at least as good reception and the stock antenna. I installed it primarily because the little monsters at the mall started playing this game where they'd run through the parking lot ripping antennas off of cars. Who ever had the most antennas at the end of the night won. Little **** heads. They never got mine though.

I'd think the best location would be in the front fender. The metal in the rear quarters might interfere with reception. The composite fenders shouldn't affect it though...
