I prefer the delco's as most people seem to get shorter intervals out of the NGKs

I just put NGK TR-55's in mine this weekend with the MSD 8.5mm wires. It rocks, noticable difference indeed.

FYI, you can order the MSD wires from Summit (www.summitracing.com) that's what I did. $58 and free shipping.

is there any reason NOT to use Bosch platinum plugs? or is cost the only factor?

ive heard more bad things about them then good, i know of one instance in a 383 where one failed, caused a dead cylinder. friend said he thought it was the core inside that broke down, when he took it out there was a powder coming out of it. ac delcos are what gm says run in the car, and the iriduims are a good plug the normal ngks 55s are good, but the ngk iriduims are a colder plug and are good for sprayed engines

T.T.T. I have a question,
I just bought Bosch plugs, just the normal ones not the 2's, 3's or 4's. I bought them because the store ran out of NGK and I had my headers off so the timing was right. I spent like $20 or something on all 8 plugs. Question is, should I keep these? Or get NGK TR55's or NGK Tr6's?

what heat range and gap should you run? I plan on just going with longtubes, true duals, and intake. nothing other then that.

If your just putting on intake and long tubes I would recommend the Delcos. They seem to be really good plugs and they are what came in the engine. The only reason to go with another plug IMO is if you are spraying and need a colder plug or want a hotter plug for some crazy reason. The delco plug is plenty of spark for what you are talking about and they will last a long time. I got 110,000 out of my stock delcos and frankly didn't notice much difference when I changed them.

Right now Im running stock gap which is I believe .060. I think there are many people who have been running .050 and say there is a huge difference in throttle response. I just bought some NGK TR55's and I am gapping them at .050. I also got MSD 8.5 spark plug wires. Ill post up and let ya know if there really is a difference, but it might be a while, because Im running seafoam in the car right now, and Im waiting 200 miles to change my oil/plugs/wires.

The difference is the boot that goes over the spark plug. One has a stock straight boot and the other has a multi-angle boot.
