Default Leak in the middle of the underbody?

Hi,
Alright, here's my situation, I just bought a 99' WS6 and I pulled it into my garage to clean it. When I took it out for pictures I found a small fluid leak about midway back. My dad and his friend say it may be gearbox fluid and it makes scense to me because the car was sitting for a while and the chances of a seal drying up sounds plausible. I was just wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with this under normal driving wear or if it could be just from sitting for a couple of months, and if so I would like to find out what the price range of this fix is going to cost me... Thanks a lot for reading.

I second the rear trans seal. I just had mine done. Figure about and hour for labor and the cost of the seal.

It's a manual transmission and the fluid is a black watery color, and by that I mean that it's thin.

Was the car idling for a while in that spot? If so maybe it is condensation with soot from the exhaust leaking out of a pipe connection. Just an Idea?

I just took it to a family machanic and they told me that the rear seal, the pinion seal, and where the shifter meets the tranny seal is rotted out. Thanks guys for all of the input.

I think it was A/C condensation.
