Default Brake rotors keep rusting

Hey,
I just got new rotors, the rotors keep rusting after every wash and it wont come off... What to do?

unless you got zinc coated (or any special coating) rotor, your going to get rust.

yep. drive them and stop and then rust is gone yay.

lol thats what i do... ummm isnt that what brakes are made for?.. i dont mean the part where the pad hits the rotor.. im talkin about like where the teeth of the rotor are.. and where the wheel bolts onto the the rear axle where the rotor is

I believe it has to do with the brake dust, especially if you have semi-mets. never seen a used rotor with no rust. not sure how to stop it

that k ind of sucks.. i mean i just put them on, and just after washing the car theyre building up rust.. hmm, any recommendations on what rotor to get? by the way the pads are ceramic

Just pull the rotor off and sand and paint the parts that are rusting with some paint. Mine are painted with just some flat black spray paint, the heat hasnt hurt the paint at all and its been over a year.

yeah but then it loses the chrome look and that just sucks

I've painted my Baer Eradispeeds even before putting them on...it is pretty much an inevitability that they will rust.

Here's my rear. It has the most exposed "hub".
I didn't do the cooling fins, but wish I did. I used DupliColor. So far so good.

I was always wondering if it was ok to paint the "hat" part of the rotor, but I asked somewhere else and couldn't get a straight answer. Good to know.

It's OK to paint the exposed area of the hat, but not the wheel mounting face.
