Got car towed about 2 hours later i tryed it again and it started up just fine .I reved it up to about 4 k a few times and let it idle a few more minutes then shut it off.Tryed to restart and nothing.I can hear the fuel pump kick on at start up .At a complete loss at what is wrong .. please any clues or tips. PS opti was replaced at 80.000<<<<. Car runs fine through the full rpm range wot. When it is running.

Ok just tryed again car started and ran. Checked under hood no signs of spark shooting out from bad wires or anything.Could still rev car past 5500 rpm with no problems. then with in about a 3 minutes the car died. no sputer or anything just died like motor was turned off. Starting to think maybe the fuel pump ????

opti, im 99.9% sure on that, mine did the same exact thing. u can try replacing the ignition coil and ICM, but i would just replace them and the opti at the same time, cuz if the opti is bad, it could hurt the new coil and ICM.

Same exact thing my car did on about 4 of the six optis that have been in it. Let it cool down long enough, and it starts back up. Then when it gets warm enough, or just generally decides to, it dies again. Sounds like opti to me. When my fuel pump went the car would start and run, just like crap, then it would die, it wouldn't rev over probably 2k rpm. Then it would start back after priming it 5 or 6 times and do the same thing over again.
