Default Does tack-welding on axle tube result in an internal axle fire?

I need to adjust the angle of my rear anti-sway bar, and it's going to require welding on the axle tubes of my car. I'm a little worried about welding on it with oil in the tubes. Am I just being paranoid? Is there a chance I could start a fire within the axle tube?

I wouldn't think so. If you got the oil really hot it could start smoking and maybe catch fire but that would take a long time. Much longer than it takes to tack weld something.

Generally oil won't burn unless it get really, really hot and is exposed to open air. So you should be fine.
