mines doing the same thing. I think you just hold in the trip **** and it resets it self. Its just a reminder not an monitoring device. I believe I could be wrong though.

Turn car to run, hold trip/oil reset button on dash for a few seconds until it flashes/goes off. Or, turn key on and depress the gas pedal three times (won't reset the trip mileage). Change your oil if it's overdue.

The light is a reminder that you need to change your oil. It is supposed to sense the degree of crap in your oil and signal when it needs to be changed, but mine comes on every 3000 miles or so. You can turn it off by turning your car on (but don't start it) and hold the mileage trip **** down for 12 seconds and it goes off...for another 3000 miles.

When the change oil light first comes on and then goes out after a min or two this means that the oil life is now spent. If you continue to drive the car after about a week the oil change light will stay on all the time until you reset it.

It only means the oil life is spent if you change your oil based on when the light comes on. I don't do this, so whenever mine comes up, I just turn it off and go about my business until it's time to change the oil.
