Default burning rubber smell

No it does not happen after a burn out It is not my tires.

After I backed out of my garage I could smell a burning rubber smell in the garage. I could smell it again tonight after I went WOT and pulled over and popped the hood. I can't figure out what it is. I know it is coming from the engine bay. And burning rubber is the only way I can think to describe it.

Let me know if you guys can think of anything or if you need any more info I left out.

Take the belt off and try to turn each pulley (except for the crank obviously )

The one that doesn't turn would be the bad one...

Don't forget you have a seperate belt for the A/C

I doubt it is a siezed pully, youd've figured that out by now. You might just have a belt slipping, but the troubleshooting process is the same. Check the pulleys for smooth free rotation, and check the belts for wear/glazing.

Belt dressing is a band-aid, but if the belts are cracked or glazed, get them changed out asap.

ur belt is probably old and lose and is slipping that would cause the burning odor. Or something might be rubbing on one of the pulleys

Well I got the belt off and all the pulleys turn freely and the belt is in good shape. All I can think of is it might be my clutch starting to go. I did some track passes with headers on the stock clutch. I am not sure if it could handle it. And the smell seems to really be there after going up my steep driveway or after a WOT run.

I could see how burning clutch could be confused for burning rubber... Sounds like thats the problem now.

Yeah my mistake, but both me and my dad thought it smelled like rubber So it looks likes I will be getting a new clutch when this one dies.

the clutch thing makes more and more sense the more I think about it. I dobut the stock clutch could handle the track with headers
