what kind of oil are you using? I was using Mobile 1 and my car was burning it. I had to add about half a quart between oil changes. Now I was vavloine 10w40 regular oil and i don't loose a drop. I always like vavloine's oils anyway try that

I'd say your in great shape if thats all you're consuming. Even sponsors on this site who build engines say factory LS1s can burn up to 1 quart every 1k miles w/ the PCV system being as it is. It seems some got crap PCV system others are perfect.

I never used a drop until after my head/cam package, now it looks like in 1k miles I used apprx 1/4 quart, and its 0w30 german castrol. If I went 10w40 I could probably reduce that but ring wear is more important to me, something GC has shown to be among the best in.

When I first bought my Z I used M1 5W-30. I burned a good bit of oil. I switched to the GC 0w-30 and stopped burning oil. It also made my engine sound less like a sewing machine.

Autozone is the only place I know of that carries it. Most of them no longer will stock it either. I understand the larger Autozones will continue to carry it. You just need to hit every Autozone in your area and check. Don't bother calling it's a waste of time.

Oh, and make sure it says "Made in Germany" on the back. Just because it says "European Formula" on the front does not mean it's the stuff everyone is talking about. it MUST say "Made in Germany" on the back.
