I'd say your in great shape if thats all you're consuming. Even sponsors on this site who build engines say factory LS1s can burn up to 1 quart every 1k miles w/ the PCV system being as it is. It seems some got crap PCV system others are perfect.
I never used a drop until after my head/cam package, now it looks like in 1k miles I used apprx 1/4 quart, and its 0w30 german castrol. If I went 10w40 I could probably reduce that but ring wear is more important to me, something GC has shown to be among the best in.

What oil could i use to stop my ls1 from using oil.what would be the best 5w30,0w30 german castrol,10w40 or 10w30. I need somthing thats not going to wear the motor as fast.

****, everytime i start my car i see an oil cloud come out the back and i see it when i gas it hard.
i want to try a catch can to see if that helps because when im in the drive through pulling up to get some food it makes my car seem like a piece of **** burning oil.
