Default park break problem

The park Brake light doesnt go on when i pull the brake. also when the brake is on and i turn the car on, the head lights go on with the car. b4 I noticed that the brake light was not working, the head lights would stay off until i release the brake. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. I was told that there might be a wire that broke in the park brake so its not "sensing" that the brake is on. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I have a 98 camaro z28 A4
Thanks

there is a switch under your center console under the parking brake lever. The metal contacts are easy to inspect to see if the switch is making contact. Its suppose to make contact with the brake up. Its probably not doing this.

Let us know how you make out!
