tickin during cold idle

Default tickin during cold idle

I have recently been noticing a ticking coming from my engine compartment during its cold idle. It goes away after warm, just wondering if anyone has this and if they know what it may be caused by.

Yeah. Try Castrol Syntec 0-30, the one made in Germany...says it on the back of the bottle. It wiped mine out, except on the coldest mornings (in Texas).

I believe its not harmful... but people just dont like to hear it.

could also be a lifter. mine does the same thing then goes away after driving for a while. nothing major, but keep listening for it to get worse.

it could also be loose manifold bolts, the TA i had did that, it sounded just like a rod nocking.
