ac recharge location??

Default ac recharge location??

hey, went to recharge the ac in my 98 z, couldnt find the plug. i know its on the low pressure side. diagram in haynes manual doesnt help.

the silver can (accumulator) with the blue cap on it.

oh, alright, i see it, it has some protective piece on it where you have to unbolt the accumulator. a little easier in my gf's v6 stang

You shouldnt have to remove anything but the plastic cap over the port. Look at the aluminum on the front side of the pass wheel well, has a rubber line exiting to the evaporator and a connection to the suction line going to the compressor.

hmmm, it looks like it has a saftey blocking plate, so that in order to unscrew the cap, you have to lift the accumulator(the thing that gets cold), up a little bit... im going to try it in an hour or so, ill let you know.

also it is a black cap, not that it matters. silver i know what you are talking about, thats how it looked in the pic in the haynes manual, but mine is not like that, or im looking at the wrong thing, or it has been changed.

yeah, so its on the accumulator, and it was block by whatever bracket is holding it in, nothing to crazy, just had to loosen it a bit then lift it up a bit to ge the cap off. pressure is good, thanks for all the help!!
