Driving home last night, pop up the head lights, 99 Trans Am by the way, drive home, close them, everything works fine. I get up 8 hours later for work, i meant to switch it to fogs, but it went to headlights, so the headlights pop up, but then i switch it for them to go down, and when they go down this LOUD *** buzzing/annoying sound starts happening until I open them up again. I put them back down, buzzing noise again. Up/down/up/down until finally it shut off, now im afraid to pop them up again. SOMEONE please help me and tell me whats wrong and how to fix it. I dont want to go to GM and have them do it, they will charge me so much. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the nylon gear striped out on the headlight motor. Use search, theres plenty of posts about it.

do i need a new motor? I called a Pontiac dealerhsip, they want $175 for parts and $135 for labor...thats crazy!!!
