Default Too lean (Bank 2)- why?

Throwing code P0174; any ideas why or what to do to correct it?

Probably a vacuum leak...check all the vacuum lines going to the manifold to make sure they are connected and not cracked. Also check your PCV system and make sure all is well. Is the car low on power at all and/or missing?

It's actually on my mom's Lincoln LS; it runs fine. I've already cleaned the MAF with a q-tip and alcohol and the code came back. I'll check over all the lines again tomorrow.

Ok, if it's a lean code for one bank only... I would think we have either an O2 sensor that is failing or possibly a vaccum leak on one side.. a MAF issue I would tend to think would cause both banks to have an issue...

I'd scope the O2 and see what it's doing.. not just read scan data because I've seen a scan tool reading voltages and switching rich/lean on a dead O2 and they usually fail lean... I have yet to see an 02 fail rich...

there is a pcv hose that runs under the intake to the back of the motor that
often gets cracked and would cause this problem. Listen for a vacumn leak. If it is this then good luck, you gota remove the intake and its a real pain

Actually I think these are easy, but thats only for the V6. If it's a V8 I woulb bet its the MAF. If you can, get a scan tool to read the BARO reading. That's usually the fault-which is the MAF.

Nothing other than my code scanner. I checked all the lines that I could and cleaned the MAF twice. Hopefully it won't come back. She's going back to Houston tomorrow, let those bastards deal with it. I did what I could.
