Ok so I was heading home tonight and a 1997 WS6 pulls up to me at a light so we go at from a stoplight to about 70 and I put about 5 lenghts on him, so we pull over and talk and he has M6, flowmaster cb, pro 5.0, spec 3 clutch, K&N, and 3.73s, and I have A4 LS1 w Lid, lts, ory, and LM2....anyways long story after we talk I go to head home and driving home I notice a slight ticking noise, so when I get home I pop the hood and dont hear it, go under the car and its somewhere under the car, what the hell is it? I searched and all the searches came up with exhaust leaks...well I did my lt install last weekend and tightened all the exhaust clamps down with air tools, and all the header bolts were tightened up very well so I dont see how it could be exhaust and plus its been driving leak free for over a week now....any other ideas???

could be ur AIR system me and my buddy both have had ours ticking, cus of the of a valve goin out.

ttt....well I just drove the car again this morning and I can NOT here the ticking noise while driving with the windows up, only with the windows down, I checked again when I parked it and its definitely coming from under the car, so could it still be the AIR system? or somthin else? anyone?

I have been experiencing about the same thing. If you are driving along accelerating and it not make the tick until a certain rpm?(Say like 2400 rpms) if so i am having the same problem. I am beginning to think that it may be a valve also.
