Default GC 0w30

i found a place locally that carries GC 0w30 and am thinking about getting some b/c the mobil 1 is leaking worse than the previous oil ran in the car, i think it is probably to thin. is it really worth it to switch to GC 0w30???

It's really a never ending argument, but some people on here swear by the GC 0w30. I'm going to give it a try next time I change my oil. You should try as well, plus you can always go back if you dont like it.

i can guarantee you it'll leak less than mobil 1. it's much thicker than mobil 1 at operating temperatures, breaks down less and has better viscosity. not only that, it's cheaper

mobil 1 = advertisement

mobil 1's good oil, but it's far from the best.

GC 0W-30 = completely unadvertised and outperforms mobil 1 in everything.

my car was burning the oil a little bit. it was probably half a quart shy of the full mark. it made me mad since the engine only had 25k on it, so i decided to use GC 0W-30 like people on this site rave about. before i did it, i put some seafoam in my oil, ran it for 100 miles and changed it. the oil came out black as coal (like the engine had 200,000 miles on it!) and it was very thick. that's when i changed to GC 0W-30. since then, i haven't burnt a DROP of this GC 0W-30 and i'm closing in on 4,000 miles. the oil itself still looks brand new. it's still perfectly amber like it just came out of the bottle! this stuff is no joke, my friend. i will never use anything else in my car after seeing these results. my engine's quieter, oil is cleaner, there is no oil burn...i <3 GC 0W-30!...and i'm confident you will, too

This is some good ****. I just got done cleaning out an entire store of there stock. I just got paid and my stock is low. I found an Autozone that had it and i grabbed 3 basket's from the rack and started loading up. The dude at the counter was like damn what the hell you gonna do with all this oil. I bought 60 bottles of it and I even got a discount for bulk purchase. Total cost was 143.96. I have enough for quite awhile and the look on there faces and the customers when my *** came up there carrying three baskets chocked full of this stuff. I then came back later that afternoon and asked them when they will get more in. HAHAHAHHAHAHA that is priceless.

Damn, I've had mine in for about 4k and it looks dirty. My motor has 121k on it though. I wonder if I should run some seafoam through before my next oil change. I ran a can through a tank of gas and it seems to run smoother and accelerate a little quicker now.

i would definitely run some seafoam in. maybe this oil change AND next oil change. you surely have some gunk. i even did after 25k.

it's a good thing to do every 25k or so.

it's 100% pure petroleum. it won't dissolve your gaskets anymore than normal oil.

The GC is supposed to be great but if you can't find it use Mobil 1 0-40 synthetic. It's on par to a 5w-30.

As far as seafoam. I'm going to wait until I have issues before trying the stuff. The whole seafoam thing gives me the creeps. Luckilly with a little over 50 thousand miles I have no gunk, no leaks, and no oil loss.

i just reiterate what patman says as i've followed his tests, read the websites and i'm very impressed with my own experiences with GC 0W-30. since i'm here a lot more than patman, i'll defend the GC

I agree, I've run both GC and Mobil 1 0-40.....both are pretty equal to one another and I don't have a consumption problem with either.....unlike Mobil 1 5-30 which my car went through faster then frat boys through a case of natty light.

I ran 0w40 M1 once and my car sucked it down like no other. Piston slap got worse and it was filling my catch can a lot. I will never use 0w40 again and I suggest that no one else does. If you have to run M1 stay with the 5w30 or regular 10w30.
