Default Stupid question about used oil…

I was just wondering about something and I thought somebody here on the board (who knows more than me) would have an answer to my question. I changed the oil in my SS (Mobile 1 Synthetic) a few weeks ago and haven't yet taken the used oil for recycling. As I was mowing the yard the other day, I noticed that my POS Craftsman push mower was low on oil yet again. That thing burns oil like like a lantern. Anyway, I didn't have any oil for the mower in the garage and realized I was going to have to make a trip to the auto store for a quart when I saw that used Mobile 1 sitting there and I wondered if it would hurt the mower if I used that in it. I mean, how bad could it be for the mower, right?

Exactly! But, I still have to mow the yard for a few more months and I don't want to buy a new mower just yet.

Sure why not. A lot of people take their mobil 1 synthetic out of their car at 3k miles (which is wasting money) and put it right into their beater.

I figured it'd be okay. Slightly used synthetic has got to be better than the cheap-*** stuff I would normally get for it. Besides, this way I get more use out of it. Now, I just have to figure out the best way to transfer it without spilling it all over the garage.

as long as your mower doesn't take 2-cycle oil you'll be fine. don't put it in a 2-stroke

you wanna talk burning oil, you shoulda saw my old yamaha blaster. that thing ate oil like rosie o'donnell in a bakery.
