Default My GC experience...

I've only used penzoil or mobile 1 synthetic in 10w-30 up to this point. I've had a substantial oil burning issue and alot of valve train noise.

I changed the oil saturday and used the german Castrol 0W-30.

Things I noticed after running the oil for only a couple days:

-Start ups are smoother. Can't really explain it any further, they just are.

-Valve train noise is reduced significantly. A real noticeable difference, it was so noticeable I ran inside and had my wife come to the garage and take a listen. She looked at me like I was and quickly left.

Overall, very pleased, obviously not enough time to monitor the oil consumption issue, but I think the results will be positive.

I will probably be changing mine to GC this weekend. Hope I can tell a difference.

i get that look from the gf every day if only she (or they for that matter) understood the importance of a smooth running engine.

I just made the switch from M1 10W30 to M1 0W40 and noticed the same significant reduction in valvetrain noise under throttle (mine was always pretty quiet at idle). What I find really amusing is that I too had my wife take a listen on a quick test drive and she told me I'm nuts, that she never heard anything before or now.

I never had a oil useage problem with this LS1 on any oil, so I can't speak on that.

Why is it that everyone says you can buy this stuff at autozone yet I've been to FOUR in the Charlotte area and can't find it anywhere?

not all Autozones have it. u just have to look for the Castrol 0w30 and make sure it says made on germany on the back. i know after my cam swap, i put m1 10w30 for 5k miles cause i couldn't get GC in time, and the valvetrain was sewing like crazy. went back to GC and valvetrain is quiet again

Is it a regional thing? Do they just not have this stuff in North Carolina or something?
