Default starting problem, battery?

car doesnt start easily at all, lights on the dash dim when i turn the key, went to autozone, the battery is drawing almost 10amps and he said its only supposed to draw 2amps...said that its a short, probably a ground somewhere, took out my amp and sub today and that seemed to help at first, but its back to being almost as bad as it was b4, sometimes (with the car off) the volt gauge will read around 9 and others it will be around 12, (when the cars on it reads between 13 and 14) also today my traction control would not turn on (only happened once) and for the side mirrors i cannot adjust to the right, i have no clue what to do except to carry around some jumper cables just in case ''knock on wood''.

tell you what, I had a hell of a time with mine I bought a new HD starter, new red top battery.
guess what still had harfd time starting I had to jump start and after runing then trying to start again nothing so I thought I had a short.
well after testing and doing a load test on my new battery, the battery was no good.
summit sent me a new battery and I checked it and good all my problems are gone it start great each time and everytime..
Oh when my new bad battery was in there I even put it on smart trickle charge after 3-days nothing when I did get jump start my inop asb light came on.
heres a sit on how to check your battery, check it out.

Assuming battery is good - pwr accy circuit has the mirrors and alarm shock sensor (plus a couple others) on it. Shock sensor is on the wheel well in the spare tire compartment. Did you have the battery load tested?

the power mirror switch doesnt work when pushing the button to the left for both drivers and passenger side....would this be due to or cause a short?

Hard to diagnose over the net - but if it was a "short" the fuse would blow. Maybe you have a couple things going on at the same time. You could try unplugging the mirror connector on the drivers side panel.

so i pulled apart the switch/button for the power mirrors and def. think it got wet or something, the plastic on the circuit board is bubbled and a bunch of the metal contacts and 'wires' on the board are corroded...hopefully thats all thats wrong, right now i just keep taking out the fuse before i turn off my car and put it back in after i start it, if i just disconnect the harness from the switch should that ''turn off'' the circuit for the power mirrors or do i need to do something else?...thanks for the help, i know that this has to be almost impossible to answer over the net, just really trying to find some common problems that others had and start with those and hope its nothing huge

Yeah, I'd try just leaving it unplugged until you get a new module. Lots of posts for "security light" on the board. Could be a few things, dirty key pelet, ignition switch, VATS, etc.

also, to clear this up, how many amps should the pwr accy be using when the car is turned off and key out of the ignition?
