Default Whats problem does this sound like?

Engine: LS1 61k miles with SLP Lid, SLP 85 mm MAf, Ported TB, SLP 25% Underdrive crank pully, Dynatech stainless steel headers, with high flo cats,TSP 231/237 598".595" cam, with dual valve springs and hardened push rods

I went to pass someone in 3rd gear at ~65mph, when I started to accelerate the engine lost nearly all power and I was forced to pull over as the engine stalled out. After several attempts I got the engine to crank and stay on by flooring the gas. Then I slowly drove it home. Yellow check engine light is on I have yet to check the codes. Does anyone recommend a mechanic in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area? Ill have it towed monday. Im guessing its an O2 sensor causing the engine to cut off, but i have no idea. Any suggestions?

Can you get someone to read the code(s) for you, or baby it down to your local Auto Zone? Don't think it's a bad 02, bet something else is going on.

O2s wont set of the check engine light, the Service engine soon light will come on but check engine light is a totally different thing. And autozone can only read SES lights not check engine lights.

Well if you pop the hood and check the engine, and it's still there, I think you're ok! Alright bad joke

I'd limp it down to the shop and see what the code reader says. I think they generally do free reads, in hopes that you'll let them service it.

Any type of O2 sensor failure most certainly will set a dtc and turn on MIL.

And BTW, "Check Engine" light, "Service Engine Soon" light, MIL, and even the poorly designed little engine graphic light are all the same thing.

It will crank now, but immediately stall out. When i was driving it home felt as if the clutch was slipping, if i gave it too much gas it would try and stall out so i had to accelerate incredibly slow. When i was forced to stop at lights i had to hold in the clutch and play with the gas to keep it from stalling out and when I put it in low gears and tried to accelerate I heard a whining/spinning noise. The belts are still intact, it may be timing chain or possibly a blown rod............I have no idea.

Im def. not driving it anywhere though, lucky I got it home. I will call RPM monday and possibly tow it there.

the first thing that i would do is to put your stock mass air flow sensor back on and see if that fixes you problem next i would check exhaust back pressure on both banks that could also cause the tp sensor code and mass air flow code and a no start or hard start can cause the crank sensor code not common but its possible and check fuel pressure
