Default Alternators

What you guys replacing yours with? OEM AC Delcos or something else?

I don't have any extras in my car so I dont need anything more then stock unless there is a good dang reason fo rit.

Yep, get 'em right from the GM dealer for all my GM cars when they need one. The local autoparts chain stores usually sell some seriously shitty rebuilds in my experiance, so I stick with the GM rebuilds. Never had a problem with one of those.

i got one at sears, which they local purchased from a parts store around here, it died within 1 week of driving. So i got an autozone one and its been great for 8 months now.

It's all about the warranty.

If you go to an autoparts store and they quote you an alternator with only like a three month warranty, DO NOT buy that one as it will go out.

However, a NEW alternator will, from my experience, have a lifetime guarantee thus showing that the company actually stands behind it's products.

Just give a store a call and ask them some questions, it doesn't hurt!

I got an ACDelco rebuilt one with a lifetime warranty on it.

Is anyone using a higher Amp alternator? If so where is a good place to get one? Any sponsers handle them? Mine is going and I need to do something soon!

i definitely need a high-amp alternator, i think mine is finally ready to go...
