Default Trunk struts

Do any of the sponsors sell the struts that keep the trunk open. Mine barely opens and I don't wanna have to go to the dealer.

youll need a star bit to change them if they are the same on all the years, needed on on my 94, but never been inside a newer model.

grab that star bit, you'll need it, struts are about $25 a pop.

Wait till you change them. You're gonna need to hang from the hatch to close it. Easiest way to change them BTW is to use a Vise-Grip on one hatch to keep it open. Lock it on, then remove the other strut. Once you put the new one on, it alone will hold up the hatch so you can change the other side.

So I take it I don't have to worry about getting the stronger ones for the Trans Am spoiler.

I don't think it should be an issue. I changed mine on my 89 Formula 350 with the wrap-around spoiler. That hatch was heavy as f*ck. It wasn't all that bad. It was a little tough to get it started from the fully open position, but it wasn't like you had to use a whole lot of force once you started to compress the shocks.

Yep, you need one of those. I recommend buying a set of the cheapest ones you can find (ala Harbor Freight) because I can't think of anything else that uses one that big.
