Default Window Wiper Arm Help

I accidentally snapped my wiper arm not too long ago. I bought a new one, but I'm having trouble removing the old arm (where it mounts to the window motor). I removed the nut that holds it on, but it seems to be pressed on so tightly that I can't seem to pull it off. Any hints or tips to getting this sucker off without tearing my window motor out at the same time?

Dont force or pry it, you'll end up breaking your windshield!

Go to an auto store, and buy the wiper arm removal tool. Its under $10, I found mine at Advanced Auto, but everyone sells it.

You can also use a battery terminal puller.

Or pull up on the arm and smack the end of the threaded rod with a hammer.

I bought the Advance wiper arm removal tool and broke the plastic **** but it finished the job. I used vice grips or something to continue turning the pintle. If memory serves me I think I moved the arm to about 1/3 up the windshield by turning the wiper on and switching the ignition off when the arm reached that point. I may have even lowered the hood a bit for clearance. I was just able to get the tool in position. Removing the arm was a fight every fraction of the way. It popped and there was a tiny cloud of dust as it broke free.

The **** couldn't take the pressure:

One caution here. Be careful when removing the wiper arm. This is what I found after buying my 2001. I think it was from someone horsing the wiper arm. I can't think of any other reason. With all due respect, I would never strike down on the spindle.
