Default LOW OIL light

what sensor does this light tie in to? i've never even seen the light before until now, and my oil isnt low. my oil pressure isnt low either, its just been staying on, i noticed whenever i check my oil the dipstick is actually not all the way in the tube, like it pops out a little bit while i drive...cant explain that...

I would also like to know about this, as I have the exact same thing happening! Sometimes the light comes on when the car is running. Oil level is where it should be.

There's an oil level sensor on the side of the oil pan.

well its plugged in, just changed the oil and the light hasnt been back on. i did notice while changing the oil that there is some oil on the pan, definitely a leaky pan, its on the the passenger side of the motor. seems like it almost built up enough to drip after 8000 miles, so probably nothing to worry about...oil was never low either, i keep checking it now...

the sensor AND wire down there have a tendacy to go bad....if you check your oil and its a good level it would then be easy to tell that the sensor is bad

I had one of the wires in the connecter break loose inside the insulation. Maybe not what's wrong with yours but just a heads up.
