i was kinda hoping we can have a basic maintenance sticky thread kinda thing going on rather than going on another site. maybe we can have it more detailed, and stuff like that. we could have basic oil change, brake change, how to add fluid, and stuff. kinda like a basic maintenance stuff for the few that werent born with a wrench in yur hand.

anyone else put oil in the filter when changing the oil and wiping the gasket on top with a little oil to keep it from dry rot?

Always. But.... the oil on the gasket is so it won't stick to filter mount.

All right here's my little tutorial in BLACK n WHITE for ya....ive already changed my oil the other day soooo if you dont know how to add and drain oil yourself...sorry i aint showing you on here...

*1. Jack your car up and use stands to whatever required height you feel is good

*2. Next youll find the oil plug on the side of the oil pan, place a drainage pan in and remove the bolt. when putting it back in make sure you dont torq it down to hard

*3. Next remove the filter and when replacing it, oil the gasket on the new one

*4. Add the new oil between 5.5-6 quarts....check it when you add it

(optional) you can throw some seafoam in the oil neck and brake booster *shown below* and let it run for a while THEN change your oil

TIME TO GO TO WORK...
