Default Oil Leak Source

Hey guys, I have had oil on my garage floor for months now, and I had a guy here in Georgia (Matt at MK Performance) diagnose it as fluid coming from the AC. So we gutted the AC since I wanted more power anyway.

I still have oil on the garage floor. I am hoping Matt doesn't charge me for this again since the initial problem has not been resolved. I cannot trace the leak unless it's on a lift.

What are some possible sources with an LS1 motor with 13k miles on it?

Oh, by the way, I am an old timer (1ScrudeDude) but had to use a new screename to get back on here.

Thanks for you .02....

Leak is coming from the front area---passenger side. So your prediction(s) sound plausible.

Expensive to correct?

Did that...couldn't trace the origin. From the top and bottom. The light beam is interrupted when I follow the trail of oil.

Thanks.

Not at all, might as well throw a cam in while youre there if its the front cover or crank seal though.

I'm thinking crank seal. I just got a tune with N20 addition and 224/581/112 cam and stage 2 heads.

I'm at 505/505 to the wheels before !AC with the 100 shot. If I had more $$, you bet I would put a bigger stick in there with a new tune!

Thanks Brad, at least I know this won't break my bank. I'm hoping that I don't get charged at all since I think the dude missed it the first time around.

If you wind up pulling the front cover just replace both the crank seal and the front cover seal anyway.

i have just noticed the same thing,
the oil pan looks moist but there was a drip on the bottom of the a/c compressor.

cleaned the pan( which really was nothing at all ) and i'm doing an oil change on saturday, so i am going to recheck.

also right front of the car, about a quarter sized drop, built up after about a weeks time.

wtf
