SES light came on this morning
I have a 2002 camaro z28. On the way to work this morning the SES light came on, car seems to run fine. I stoped by AutoZone on my way home and the code it gave was: P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected
I did a search but i'm not sure what i need to do to fix it. My car has a warranty is this something that would be covered?
Thanks

Sure that the code is P0401? Your car doesn't have EGR. Maybe an AIR code, like P0410?
Thanks for the fast reply.

Passenger side cat - covered under GM warranty for 10 yrs/120K now. Most people just got letters in the mail for bad cats, if you didn't get it I'll post a link to it for you.

Alright i droped my car off at the dealership this morning. Around 2pm they called and said that the cat was bad and they would replace it under the warranty. 10yr / 120,000 mile. But you know they wanted to make some money off me away they can. He tells me the reason it went bad because it was mis-firing. I asked why t doing that and his reply was because my throttle body and injectors was dirty. Said they would clean them for $215. I said no, just replace the cat. Then he told me that they would not warranty the other cat or the one they replaced if I did not let them clean it. A bunch of BS if you ask me but O well.
2 months ago a used Seaform in my gas tank and in the engine. Car smoked alittle but nothing crazy. Could this have messed up my Cat.?

Don't think it's your fault, obviously by the letter they've been having problems with them (and have been for some time). I'd look up the 1-800 number for GM customer service and report them and try to get something back in writing so they can't come back on you later and void the warranty on the other cat - and don't even mention the seafoam. Sounds like a lousy dealership....

That dealer cannot just decide to not warrantee the other cat. It's not his warrantee, but GM's. Call GM and complain. Dirty injectors did not ruin the cat. It's a faulty GM part. Most of them will go by 80k miles. Your other cat will probably go later. The dealer just doesn't want to do the warrantee work for free and is looking to make some margin to pay for the shop time. Oh, and now you know which dealer NOT to buy your next car from.
