Default powersteering leak common?

I just wonder b/c my powersteering fluid leaks slowly out of the cap. Is the cap bad? I know some others who have this problem as well.

It makes a little noise under hard turns but nothing major.

My guess is your pump is starting to go out. Will someone else chime in?

if it leaks from the cap, can't you just replace the cap? try power-steering stop leak.

Mine always looks damp around the cap, Been like it for over 4 years. Its never gotten worse. My pump also makes a little noise when on full turning lock, I think thats normal, my last car did that too. I'm guessing it gets damp around the cap perhaps from heat, but then my half empty bottle of power steering fluid in the garage is damp around the cap, even though it was dry when I put it there.

Perhaps a new cap will sort the problem, perhaps some car shows it more thna others, but i dont think its doing any harm, as fluid levels always look good.
