96 pontiac trans am keeps cutting off
i have a 96 pontiac trans am and the problem is that i will crank and run for about 5 miniutes then suddenly kill it wont start back for a hour or so then it will run for about 5 min. then die agian just replaced the distributor 2 weeks ago please help me

I honestly have no idea about this but someone a while back mentioned the ignition switch or something. If anyone can correct me or send him the right direction please help.

Ok So you said that you replaced the OptiSpark?
Is it giving you any codes? if it is giving you any timing reference codes it is the opti or the crank position sensor, but if its not giving you any codes my money would be on the Coil and or the ignition module.
Also on the optispark it has the long harness that goes down to it, if that harness is damaged it can act like if the opti is bad, but in reality its the harness.

i replaced the fuel filter coil and module yesterday and it is still not getting any fireit will fire once every two or three hours but will die in 5 to 10 minwill that still be the opti spark or crank position sensor
