Default Any special method needed to add coolant?

I lost a slight bit of coolant when changing my coolant tubes on my Formula, can I just add some to the overflow or radiator? I heard there was a special coolant fill procedure, so I don't want to screw anything up.

*edit* I already added a bit to the radiator before, but my low coolant light came on so I checked it and both the radiator and overflow are full. Why would the light come on? Air pocket maybe?

What I've done to get any air out is when the engine is cool enough...remove the radiator cap and let it run until the thermostat opens...then pour in fluid until it is full.

I let it idle about 5 more min to see if the coolant level dropped...then capped it off, took it for a 10 mile spin and rechecked the level after it cooled down. All was good....hope this helps
