Whp makes the Best paper air filter?
I know a lot of you guys don't like the K&N filters because of the risk of over-oiling it and messing up the MAF sensor.
So.... if you stick with a paper element, is there one better than the other?;or are they all about the same as far as filtering/air flow
Who's best Fram, STP, Purolator, Wix, NAPA, ect..............

i have yet to see anyone proove that you can over oil your K&N filter. i know if you do it the way the directions say. their is no possibility of it happening. just another wise tale people get caught up in. just get a K&N and then wash and re-oil as needed. its cheaper and if someone is scared of over oiling their filter they have no business working on anything other than maybe putting air in a tire... thats about the level of intelligence someone needs.

I use either Fram or AC Delco, for air filters.

For a MAF-equipped engine, this would mean that the MAF would receive the extra oil until the filter is appropriately oiled. I have K&N filters on all 5 of my current vehicles, and all are appropriately oiled. This is not a put down, I merely wish to dispel misinformation.
Paper filters are another story. They do filter better, albeit at a higher overall cost, since they must be replaced. I would go with a name brand, such as AC Delco.

paper is paper i don't feel the need to spend 2 dollars more for a fram or another 1 after that for an ac delco since delco seems to outsource all of the parts they sell then that would mean that you just pay more for the name i use the cheapest air filter i can find.

One thing I do on my paper filters is cut out the metal mesh on the back side. Filter is still stiff enough not to distort and removing the metal mesh lets even more air flow through.
