Stereo lost bass

Default Stereo lost bass

My stereo system use to sound awesome now the car has little to no bass anymore. Did i blow an amp somewhere or do I need a new head unit? Thanks Jon

Is it the factory stereo? Monsoon or whatever that was called? Go around and make sure all of your speakers are actually working, I think GM actually used six.

Stock monsoon system, I cant see how anything woudl of came unpluged. System sounded great then one day started to sound like crap, its all tremble and the bass is gone, so i though maybe the head unit was no longer any good but wasnt sure?

If you listen to your stereo with any loudness, those midbass subs in the sail panel will not last long. You can usually still hear a little bass at low volumes, but the sound distorts quickly as the volume is increased. Pop the cover off and take a look, it's not hard to tell. (This is for factory monsoon)

If you have any blown speakers the amp automatically shuts off. Alot of the problem with the factory speakers are the solders that the voice coil wires are attached with. They are very weak and do not hold up to bass. That has been my experience...
