Default Engine Restore additive

I've seen commericals for this stuff since I was a kid, but I never knew anyone that actually used it. Has anyone ever actually tried that stuff? Seems like it would just end up in your oil filter like the old teflon **** did.

Putting crap like that in your engine is just asking for trouble. I would not do it to my car, and advise everyone to steer clear of this junk. JMHO..

Yeah I wouldn't use it either. Was just curious if anyone had ever used it before and what it did, if anything. A commercial on Powerblock this morning reminded me of it.

Seen the same thing, but would never even consider using it.

considerin some guys are takin apart blocks with over 100k and they still have cross-hatch marks on the cylinder walls, i think this stuff is useless. i think GM top end clean or Seafoam will clear out any carbon/sticky valves. I don't think Id use this stuff, theres no real need.

That stuff is the same crap like z-max and lucasoil, i stick with sea foam.

As for trucks, that show seems so repetitive, always doing a intake/exhaust/comp.tuner on a diesel, whoaahhh, hard stuff, i did it to my diesel in a few hours w/o directions. +1 for the show going down hill since Stacey left.

Actually...RESTORE has Lubricants that are good for seals..etc.. I used it a couple times....not recently...seeing as my highish mileage car runs perfect and uses no oil....maybe it worked. stuff is not going to hurt any.

Wrong.... Ask some of the guys who ran this stuff and found hardened particles/chunks in their oil and pan. Some of the stuff in these products can solidify, according to many expert engine builders. I am not an expert in engines, as my profession is collision repair / auto painting, but I don't trust dumping this junk into my car.

Nothing going in my engine but motor oil, and if it has problems, it will get rebuilt/replaced instead of dumping a can of "miracle crap" in the oil. Remember, the old timers believed in snake oil as well, not that it truly worked.

or just take care of your engines and drive our cars Normal.. that technically would be the best maintenance. LOL but who is going to Drive normal with the never occasional throttle romping.

i wouldnt use that stuff but... their checked over and regulated by the same companies that look over motor oils/ seafoam and such.

That Gearz show is pretty cool. He's in the process of putting a 5.0( ) in a Miata
