Default Need Help. Dead Car!!!!

Over the past week, the car has been cranking for a few seconds before starting. This weekend it got to the point where it wont start. The engine has full fuel pressure, and trying to start by jumpstarting does nothing. The battery is perfect. I have already replaced the crank position sensor thinking that was the problem. What else can it be? Can the camshaft position sensor disable the engine? What about VATS and the security key? Does the engine actually crank with the VATS active? The engine sounds ike it wants to turn over, but it just wont!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any suggestions or things to test? I will try anything about now...

57-58 is normal pressure.

I had crank sensor issues the car still started up and drove for the four weeks that I chased the problem.

Well I replaced the crank sensor so thats not the problem. So my fuel pressure should be 58 ps1 with the key in ACC? Would 50 ps1 be enough to keep the engine from starting? What about fouled plugs? My car is officially dead right now, no glimmer of hope for starting it.

No codes of any kind?

It's turning over but not starting.

The basics are no spark or no fuel.

Fuel is easy
1)check fuel pump fuse in engine bay
2)push shrader valve on fuel rail to see if there is pressure
3)check fuel filter and make sure it's not clogged.

If #2 does not spray a lot of fuel out and #1and #3 are normal then I would call Mustang's Unlimited and get a new Walboro 255 fuel pump. Slightly louder than stock but will save you $$$$ and allow you to use 125 dry shot or 150 wet.

If it's not fuel then pull each coil wire and have your buddy stick the end of the wire on his tongue while you try and start the vehicle. If he dies, catches on fire, or his tongue falls off then it wasn't that coil wire - go to the next coil pack and get another friend over to help you check that one. J/K

I don't know how to chase electrical problems as well so I'll let someone else try that one.

Good luck!
Hopefully it's fuel - $140 for a fuel pump is worse case scenario and an upgrade you will probably be glad you have eventually.

Problem solved. Turned out to be a dead ignition relay.

It's not VATS. You will typically start and then fail to continue running there (fuel cutoff.)

If you replaced the CKS how did you force the PCM to relearn the postion of that sensor ?
which is required.

Did you check the fuses for the injectors ?
Are you getting spark ?

Any DTC error codes ?
