Default Ignition Problem

Hey guys, got a problem here with my brothers car. Its a 95 Buick Century with the 3.1 V6. It has no spark and the fuel injectors are not pulsating. This happened all the sudden yesterday. I thought the ICM was bad, so bought a new one and put it in, no change. What else could be the problem? Fuel pressure is good, battery voltage good. Ignition coils are also showing good resistance. Let me know somewhere else to check, all I've got is a Hayne's manual and its worthless as far as troubleshooting.

My brothers Monte did this same exact thing and it was the PCM. You can find them on ebay all day long for no more than $50. Just find the right program number.

Well I was thinking about that, car only has like 40K miles on it though, the service engine light still comes on when you turn the car on, its an OBD I computer and I can't get it to go into diagnostic mode, is that an indication of bad computer?

See... i was figuring that just really didn't want to tear into that Ok well I'll check that out. What about the computer not going into diagnostic mode, whats up with that? You know you short those 2 wires in the plug and the SES light is supposed to flash? It doesn't do anything when you do that.

Being a '95 I would use a scanner. Some GM models use different pins than others. Make sure you have the right ones jumped (if possible). Being a GM the connector/wiring could have an open or a short somewhere preventing the code retrieval. Anything is possible.

I didn't ask, but I assume you checked the other basics like fuses and relays?
On these cars I believe there is an ignition feed fuse that goes to th PCM. Can't remember because I only really work on MB's now and on my T/A.

Yeah I'll try the CKP first, if thats not it I guess I'm looking at a fried PCM... no idea why it would just fry all the sudden... brother said he was driving and it just started chugging/hesitating so he pulled over and killed it, then it wouldn't start again.
