Default car sat for 10 months now drivers power window won't work

As the title says, the car has sat for 10 months, and I just got it running. I tried to roll down the drivers side window, and it won't do anything. The pass. side window rolls down fine. when I push the button for the drivers window to roll down, I hear a slight.. I dunno.. almost like a buzz sound for a split second, from under the dash. I thought it might be the switch, but I did an experiment.. I roll down the pass side window to see how fast it would go, then I pushed down both buttons to see if it slowed down the pass side window, and it did slow it down. That tells me the button is fine for the drivers side. Maybe the motor went out somehow while it sat?

Any ideas?

Take your door panel off and smack the motor with a hammer until it works. If pushing the drivers side switch slows the other window than the motor is taking power, sometimes they get stuck with corrosion or something. I've done the hammer trick many times when I was an auto glass mechanic (years and years ago), works all the time.

Its worth a shot. Sometimes you can even smack the door panel in the spot where the motor is and it'll work.

+1 for the hammer trick. It should last you a good while.

Right, it's just stuck. There must be an amp limiter or something on the motor. In the winter if I wash mine and it freezes, the window won't go down. When thawed it works fine again.

I LITERALLY have the same exact problem. When my car went into storage, the window worked fine. Now, it's dying all the time. I just grab it and pull or push it as I'm hitting the switch, and that gets it almost all the way there. My car is under warranty, I think the motor should be covered. Maybe I'll just have em replace it

I'd drown the electric motor with WD-40 or Sea Foam Deep Creap too, try to get all the corrosion out of it.

Did you use the hammer fix, or the WD spray?

Hopefully both were done. It was either corrosion or surface rust in there, so drown it in WD-40 or Sea Foam Deep Creap.

Glad we could help "Captain InsaneO.

I smacked it with a hammer, and then used WD-40 on it.
