Default Door wont open need help!!!

My passangerside door is stuck shut on my 93 firebird. the lock mechanism is working and the handles are working, and i tried the key aswell as well it is just stuck and not opening the latch that goes over the striker bolt.

I had this happen on the driverside but luckily i had the door panel off because i was doing the window motor...but what can i do if the door panels are still on???? or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this??? and has this happened to anyone else???

Try banging on the door, my old pickup truck used to that. Just take your fist and bang around where the lock/ striker bolt area.

Try to lightly pry UP, between the sill and door. Might have some hinge wear the door is resting on the latch causing it to bind and not release.

the banging didnt work and neither did the prying...its like the handle isnt lifting the release for the part that closes on the stricker bolt...kinda like its locked

Seems like you need to keep it open and take the door panel off and see what is going on, when you closed it did it sound normal when it closed?

yeah sounded fine nothing out of the ordinary...i cant get it open period....im gonna try and see if i can get the door panel off w/ th door shut....its tight but i think i might be able to do it... if not i might see if there is a way to take the stricker bolt out through the speaker in the back seat since its pretty close...idk this is just pissing me off...im trying to sell it i get no calls from autor trader for 4 weeks...then the second the door breaks i get 4 calls
