Default a/c showing very high pressure

i replaced my orfice tube and started filling back up with freon and it didnt take hardly any at all and the gauge was showing 55 psi .... the compressor never kicked on even when i jumpered the high pressure switch ....compressor turns over by hand though soo it isnt froze up .............

I don't think it will take a charge if compressor is not running.Do you see the clutch engage or hear the click when it is energized?

high high side or high low side or both high? if it is high on the high side and almost in a vacuum on the low you have a restriction somewhere. i have seen a drier implode shooting all the dessicant through the system.
