how do u know when the oil sending unit is bad

From what i heard and read, when your oil pressure gauge is jumping around or is reading wrong then its more then likely your oil pressure sending unit thats going bad. Or when your gauge reads zero and you really have oil pressure then its bad.

just check the gauge first or its cheaper and easier to do then the pump....if you install a new unit and the pressure is still bad....hello pump

Too bad the pressure sending unit is a pita to get to, I'd like to replace mine.

Its not too bad once you remove the valve cover...have a small mirror and a flashlight handy so you can get a good look at it.

My oil pressure gauge was reading off AND the sensor was leaking all over my firewall...how I knew it was bad.

remove the valve cover????!

remove the intake manifold and get the socket for it...takes about an hour
