code question
I threw a code today
DTC P0420 Catalyst System Low Efficiency
I have tpis lt headers, slp catted y pipe, slp dual dual cat back. Car has 16,000 miles on it(1999 ss). Wires were changed at 13,500 miles to put better wires(and lt's) according to the documents i have. slp cat back and midpipe went on at around 9,000 miles.
Causes for the code that i found is bad cat, missfire, oil in the exhaust, and bad o2 sensor.
Are slp cats known to go etc?

^^^^ MINE....
alright, you stated you thought it could be a couple different things.
well a bad cat will usually cause the floorboard to get hotter, a fuel/rotten eggs smell, and rattling....is your car doing this?
a misfire can be felt and heard sometimes....is your car doing this?
oil in the exhaust can be seen and smelt, also should be able to tell that its losing oil....is your car doing this?
a bad o2 will usually cause the car to not run good and it will throw its own code
look into it a little bit deeper and come back
