coolant light ??

Default coolant light ??

I have a 99 z28 with about 85k and my low coolant comes on when ever im driving everytime. i check the coolant when its cool and its topped off at the radiator and the resevoir is full too but the light stays on. im going to flush it and see if its still there but any one have any suggestions? i would appreciate it thanks...

Sounds like the coolant level sensor is bad since your fluids check out OK. If I had my shop manual handy, it might say how to check the sensor, but I'm at work...

Low coolant sensors go bad all the time - some people just disconnect it to keep the light off. You can try and clean it first, or just replace it. GM took them off our cars starting in '00.

Just disconnect it. Light goes away, problem solved. Just keep an eye on your coolant when checking your oil or doing other under the hood things. If there are no leaks and a head gasket isn't blown, the level shouldn't change much anyway.

I had the same problem on my 98. All I did was flush out the old coolant and put new one in. Problem solved.
