Default Miniature flat tire...ish sound when braking?

Well jeeze if its not one thing it's another with my car lately - For a while now, if I come to a slow stop, it sounds like I have a very subdued-sounding flat tire. That is to say, it sounds like a constant *pat pat pat pat* until I come to a full stop. It' smore noticable when slowing down from faster speeds.

I've also noticed that when I brake, my car does the infamous jerk-back-and-forth-gently motion until I'm stopped. This leads me to believe that the sound and the gentle jerk back and forth could be due to a warped rotor. I hope it's not something with my rear end, though.

Does anybody have any ideas what else this could be or what I could check for?

Sounds like your rear drums are warped and are pulling the shoes out and releasing them every rotation. Hopefully you have drum rears. If not Id say warped rotor(s)

Disc brakes, I'm afraid. **** - how can I check which rotor is warped? Is there even a way or should I just bit the bullet and take it in?

Yes you check it with a dial indicator. Most shops do brake checks for free so if you dont have the gauge, take it in and ask for the runout readings. Anything over .006 is a problem.

If its coming from the rear its either a bent axle or warper rotor. If the front, U know its a warped rotor.

Your "jerk back and forth" statement tells me it's your fronts because you're feeling it in the wheel. Buy a couple rotors and new pads from autozone and all will be well.
