Default headgasket/bottom end? HELP

Well had me heads redone and new gaskets put on 6 months and less then 1000 miles ago and now im overheating with white smoke. headgaskets obviously shot again. (not as bad as first time though), How do I find out if the bottom end of the motor is okay? ...ex: no rings fried.....also i have lifter tap on the drivers side. lifters are new as well as everything on the heads. How do i make sure the bottom end is okay? are there and tests i can do?
